Origin and schools of Qigong
Qigong is a Psychosomatic practicing skill that adjusts body, breath and mind
into one. The first adjustment is to adjust posture and movement, the second
is to adjust breath type and the third is to adjust mental activities. It forms
the special psychosomatic state of Qigong practice when integrating the 'three
adjustment into one'.
Varieties of Qigong practice forms
There are a wide variety of Qigong practice forms vary in the contents and
combination of the three adjustments. But in every from, the three adjustments
are indispensable, and the state of "three adjustments into one" is necessary
as well.
Health Qigong
Based on traditional Qigong practices, Chinese Health Qigong Association has
released 4 sets of practice forms specifically aimed at health improvement.
These are [Yi Jin Jing] (sinew and Tendon transforming exercise), [Wu Qin Xi] (frolics of five animals), [Liu Zi Jue] (six healing sounds) and
[Ba Duan Jin] (eight section brocades). They are widely practiced in China and are becoming
popular world-wide.
